Trees

Here are some photos I snapped recently. One is on film (the bottom one) and the other on my dslr. I believe trees are so beautiful and elegant, and there is no shortage of them to shoot!

Which one do you like better?

I enjoy the top one more because it incorporates the surroundings which give perspective. Do you agree?

  1. I am in love with the first photo! I know you're really into film cameras, just like me. But I'm thinking of getting a digital SLR. I was wondering if you have any suggestions on what type to get. Thanks.

  2. OH! Another person who is into film cameras! We should go shooting sometime.... even though I don't know who you are!

What I think is that all bodies will bring you quality photos (some waay more than others but for a beginner you will never be able to tell the difference), although some bodies have better features (ie. white balance, video, and different modes...). If you want video, you should be getting a dslr because that is not really their purpose.

SO. go to a camera store NOT FUTURE SHOP and play with a few that are UNDER 600 $. do not waste money on the body, spend money on the lens. Buy a kit lens (no matter how amateur they are, usually a 18 to something mm) and use that. Once you have gotten into your camera and know it inside out, purchase a really nice lens that might cost more than the body itself. The lens is what makes the difference these days. OR borrow lens from friends... like myself.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask!
